Goals
In modern English, the term alumnus, which comes from the Latin word for foster child or disciple, is used to denote the former members of a school, college, university, or the like. The alumni of Münster University are not only persons who have taught or studied here, but also those who have received a doctorate from our university or who who have been employed in some capacity or other within that institution. To all these people the Alumni Club Münster has something to offer.
The members of our club are provided with up-to-date information; they are in constant contact with the University; and they are integrated into a network designed to serve both private and professional purposes. They are afforded ample opportunity to communicate to members of the University their own stores of practical experience, and at the same time they can participate in current academic developments. We plan to expand our range of services by degrees, and we welcome any suggestions you might care to make.
The club's logo is reminiscent of the golden figure that tops the tower of the university's main building, the Schloss. The figure in question represents the Greek goddess of victory, Nike, with a laurel wreath.
