Stellenausschreibung

The Muenster School of Business and Economics offers to the 1st December 2010 or later a full-time position as

ERNST & YOUNG FOUNDATION ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (W1)
FOR ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING

for an initial period of three years (first phase) with an option of an extension for another three years (second phase) after successful evaluation. Assistant Professor (in German: Juniorprofessur W1) is a post that offers an opportunity to qualify for a full professorship in the German university system.

The research and teaching focus of the assistant professorship will combine theoretical methods and applied aspects related to accounting and/or audit. On the one hand job candidates should be trained in empirical and/or experimental research. On the other hand they should feel confident in the traditional examination of national and international regulatory frameworks of accounting and/or audit. An international focus is highly appreciated.

The teaching load is an equivalent of four (first phase) respectively five (second phase) semester hours per week thereafter. Another duty is the supervision of bachelor and master thesises as well as postgraduates. The quantitative research should be analytical substantiated and embedded in a conceptual framework. Results of research are expected to be presented on national and international conferences and published in leading academic journals.

A university degree is prerequisite. The educational ability for academic teachings and the specific research skills for deepened independent academic work are generally proven by appropriate evaluations of teachings and the high quality of an appropriate doctoral dissertation.
The WWU Muenster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to raise the ratio of women scientists in senior positions. Consequently, we actively encourage applications from suitably-qualified women who will be treated preferentially. The same applies to suitable applicants with disabilities.
